What Joliet ordinances cover fireworks?
Local ordinance prohibits the sale of fireworks and firework novelties. Firework novelties are defined as “snake or glow worm pellets, smoke devices, sparklers, trick noisemakers, “booby traps”, “snappers”, “trick matches”, “cigarette loads”, and “auto burglar alarms”. In addition, toy pistols, guns, canes or other devices in which paper or plastic caps containing .25 grain (16.2mg) or less of explosive compound are not to be sold. State statute limits possession, display, and storage.
