The best products for use in minimizing sound transmission through walls, floors and ceilings are Johns Manville’s thermal and acoustical fiber glass batts. Another option is the use of Johns Manville’s Climate Pro® fiber glass insulation installed as a Blow-in-Blanket® System (BIBS). Both products, when installed correctly, will dampen the airborne sound within the cavity reducing the amount of sound transmitted through the partition. For optimal performance the fiber glass insulation should completely fill the partition cavity.
