What Jobs Do Au Pairs Do?
As an au pair, you will be expected to help with light housework and childcare. Depending on the host family, your hours will be split in different ways, with some families wanting more housework and others preferring more childcare. It is a good idea to ask families before you arrive what the majority of your work will be. All au pairs will be expected to work an average of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week or 25 hours per week, although this will depend on what category of au pair you are (standard, au pair plus or Mother’s Help) and which country you are going to.
