What jobs can you do with a masters degree in counseling?
Besides the obvious counseling jobs you would prepare for via specializing in a counseling area during your MS program (i.e., School Counseling, Career Counseling, Community Counseling, etc.), a general MS Counseling degree is a good base for a career in HR or, in my case, research (marketing/consumer research). I specialized in School Counseling so the Education courses and fieldwork required also helped me in areas of staff training and supervision. Understanding human psychology (motivation) has proved to be very hepful to me both personally and professionally. In short, it’s a degree with many applications in the world of work.
