What Jobs Are Available For People With Addiction Counselor Training?
According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, over 22 million people needed treatment for an alcohol or drug problem in 2003. Actually, addiction – which also includes problems with gambling, sex, and eating – has become the number one public health issue in the United States. As awareness for this problem rises, the number of jobs for addiction counselors does too. The NAADAC is largely expanding this effort to make professional treatment available to anyone who needs it. As such, jobs for those who have completed an addiction counseling training program are becoming more plentiful.
