What job does a Cadet perform?
Cadets are uniform members who are responsible for providing policing support services in detachments under the leadership of the Detachment Commander. Specific assignments and assigned shifts may vary at different detachment locations but every Cadet is provided with the opportunity to gain insights into the policing environment, as well as developing skills beneficial to pursuing a career as a police constable. Cadets are provided with a distinctive uniform and some basic equipment suited to performing their duties. Since the position is not as a sworn officer, firearms are not issued.
