Items designated as “public” or “directory” information may be released at the discretion of Addison, under provisions of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, as amended. As a student, you have the right to restrict disclosure of ANY or ALL of the following items: • name • home address • home telephone number • cellular telephone number • date of birth • previous institutions(s)attended • dates of attendance • schedule of classes • dissertation/research topic • e-mail address • work address • work telephone number • fax number • place of birth • photograph • grade level • major/area of study • degrees/certificates and dates awarded If you restrict disclosure on any or all of those items, they will be treated as confidential, and any future requests for this information for purposes other than official Addison business will be refused. Contact the Registrar’s Office to restrict disclosure of public or directory information with a signed, written request.
