A The economic feasibility study will evaluate the financial issues that will arise if the three islands de-annex from the City of Clearwater and incorporate as a new city. It will address issues such as the amount of all of the taxes that the three islands pay to the City and other government agencies, including but not limited to property, sales, liquor, bed, gas, Pennies for Pinellas, etc., how those tax revenues are spent, the cost of services received in return and the sources of revenue the islands would have if we incorporate into a new city. It will also identify the impact of de-annexation on the City of Clearwater and assist in the development of a plan to mitigate that impact.
