What issues were caused by Chinas population growth?
The main issue is falling population in China alone while the rest of the world’s population increasing, which by 2050 (40 years to go), world population will be 9 billion, while China will be about 1 billion and India will be 1.7 billion. Because in the 1960s, China realize that we would be unrealistic to assume a continued increase in food supply to support an exponentially growing population. Realising the true nature of the exponential growth in population does not reveal itself until variable rates of growth are considered. By the law of nature, any population which sustains a negative rate of growth will halve, or any population which sustains a positive rate of growth will double. It took nature tens of thousands of years to build up a population of just half of a billion people, but within our life time, world population had gone up to 6.8 billions today.
