What issues did the congress of vienna attemp to resolve?
The Congress of Vienna took place in 1819, after the downfall of Napoleon Bonaparte. The Congress attempted to remake Europe by redrawing national boundaries in a way that would best create a “balance of power.” This so-called balance of power remained more or less in place until the end of the 19th century saw a rise in neo-imperialism, militarism, nationalism, and alliance systems, all of which eventually led to the First World War in 1914.
