What is Yulee Railroad Days?
Yulee Railroad Days celebrates the life and accomplishments of David Levy Yulee, first U.S. Senator from the State of Florida, and his Florida Railroad, the first cross-state railway in the state. Held in the City of Archer annually for eight years, in 2004 the celebration expands throughout Alachua County, including events in many towns impacted by his and other railroads. Over the course of the eight-year period it took for the Florida RR to be built, the celebration will stretch from Fernandina on the Atlantic Coast to Cedar Key on the Gulf, creating a linear festival in which towns and organizations will honor railroad history in Northeast and North Central Florida in their own way.
