Medata is committed to monitoring and updating changes to state fee schedules. A team of staff is continuously monitoring state websites and various workers’ compensation publications for any updates to fee schedules. These changes are updated in the system as often as needed. It is Medata policy to distribute any updates/changes to the fee schedule PRIOR to the effective date. When a schedule has a retroactive effective date, Medata provides the update within 30 days of it being made available. TALLY, Medata’s reasonableness database, is updated once a year for all states except Indiana and Wisconsin. The Indiana and Wisconsin TALLY files are updated twice a year in accordance with state regulations. Medata’s rationale for updating once a year is that providers do not vary their charges enough within a single calendar year.
