What is your impression about the state of the Indoor Sports at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos?
We came for the inspection of the National Stadium for us to see the state of the Indoor Sports Hall. I’m happy to say that the sponsor has seen the state of the facilities as well. We are anticipating having the season opener in Lagos, because the followership is here and Lagos has a good tradition for basketball. Good teams are also here. It is unfortunate that the hall is not good for television coverage at all. We still need to do a lot to make the hall ready for the season. Q: How long will it take to put the hall in shape for the league and how much will it cost to do so? A: Though the hall is in a terrible condition, we are not going to waste much time on its repair. It is a big shame for people responsible for the maintenance of the hall. The sports hall is not managed as expected. We will try our best to get it ready in good time. I cannot give the costs of the repair now. I’m happy to say that the sponsors are ready to help us in some areas to put the hall in the right shape.
