What is your favourite book outlining the evidence for Jesus Christ?
The ONLY primary source material supporting the historical existence of a rabbi named the Aramaic equivalent of Jesus are the books of the New Testament. It’s accepted that the earliest of these was written no earlier than a couple of decades after the alleged crucifixion, so there are not even any biased contemporary accounts of the life and works of the Rabbi Yeshua. Most historians accept the Gospels as proof of his existence, but it seems this is mainly because it’s such a huge leap for anyone brought up in a Western, fundamentally Christian culture to even consider the idea that a central character (arguably THE central character) in our culture might be no more a historical person than, say, Mithras or the goddess Venus.
