WHAT IS YORKS PROCEDURE FOR REFUSING TO DO UNSAFE WORK?
The Department of Occupational Health and Safety issued a Work Refusal Procedure. Please refer to the document which can be found on the DOHS web site at: http://www.yorku.ca/dohs/pdf_documents/workRefusal.pdf It is important to note that a YUSA/APUY Health and Safety Rep can be contacted at any point in this procedure. Also, once an employee has initiated a work refusal, the supervisor and health and safety rep will contact the Department of Occupational Health and Safety to begin an investigation into the situation.
