What is yaoi, exactly?
The first thing you need to know is that “yaoi” is not a real Japanese term. Don’t forget that. The second thing you should know that, if you haven’t noticed by my site, it’s romantic or sexual situations between two (or more) males. “Yaoi” is actually an acronym for several different Japanese phrases: yama nashi, ochi nashi, imi nashi. Or in English, that would roughly be: no climax, no point, no meaning. This is because lots of yaoi situations tend to be “meaningless” or could even be impossible to happen in the series from which it is based. The stereotypical “rabid yaoi fangirl”, often, will just put her two favorite males together, regardless of their relationship in the actual series.
