What is XAPPLVLD support? How and why would a site use this option?

XAPPLVLD support was added to eTrust CA-ACF2 6.3 and 6.4. The new GSO OPTS parameter XAPPLVLD|NOXAPPLVLD is used to control this option. Sites that do “APPL” resource validation to control a user’s authority to access an application during system entry processing would find this option useful in situations where there is no “APPL” provided on the SAF VERIFY/VERIFYX call or when there is no “APPL” passed on a NON-SAF caller.
