What is wrong with the religions and/or religious traditions of our ancestors?

In our site’s mission statement, it explains that we are not here to “market” Christianity inside of an afrocentric package to compete with the religions and/or religious traditions of our ancestors. If making a religious choice were merely a pragmatic one or based upon someone’s heritage, then this objection would make sense. We believe that it is only through Jesus Christ that an individual can receive eternal life. While we experience a great deal of pride in the experiences/progress of our ancestors, their religious traditions must be rejected, not on the basis of a cultural alternative that is preferred, but on the basis of truth vs. error.
