What is wrong with the oak leaves this year?
They’re covered in what looks like blisters. It’s called Oak leaf blister. This is a caused by the fungus Taphrina caerulescens that make the leaves look horrible but rarely does any damage otherwise. This fungus winters over in the bud scales and during cool wet spring weather it enters emerging leaves and forms blisters as it gets into the tissue. The leaves will eventually die and turn brown but may stay on the tree. The fungus produces spores in the fall which will overwinter and if the next spring is cool and wet, it starts all over again. top of page Onion Rot My onions are big but the leaves are wilting and some are dying.
