Recently the abs and airbag light came on in my car and my husband realized it wasn’t charging, so he took off the alternator and had it checked, it was fine at 14 volts. The fuse on top of the battery was blown and he replaced it and that seemed to fix the problem but the wire was very warm, however 3 days later the wire leading to that fuse “melted” and the fuse blew again. The battery light comes on but will go off if the engine is revved. Our car guy says there isn’t a stater (sp?) on this car so we can’t pinpoint the problem short of taking it to a dealership and giving up our firstborn to pay for the testing. Can anybody help?
