What is wrong with a puppy when it is not eating, no energy and is pooping blood?
I work at a vet clinic and it sounds a lot like the Parvo Virus. It is also characterized by a terrible smell. There is no cure or treatment for the virus. You merely treat the symptoms which include high fever, dehydration, and anorexia. The biggest key is keeping the hydrated. Puppies usually need IV fluids to survive. The survival rate of puppies with Parvo is only about 50% when treated. I would suggest taking your puppy to an emergency clinic ASAP so that treatment can begin immediately. They usually need to be hospitalized for approximately one week. If finances are a major issue you have a couple of options. You can visit www.carecredit.com and look for a clinic near you that accepts it and then apply for credit. It will give you a no interest credit card that can be used at vet clinic (among other places like dentists for people!). You will be approved and be allowed to use your “card” immediately. Your other options include trying to give it VERY small quantities of water oral
