What is written communication and what are the advantages and disadvantages?
Written communication is anything that is stored in some sort of permanent fashion in order to save or transfer any type of information. The disadvantages are that it can sometimes be slower than direct verbal speech. It doesn’t permit immediate feed back so the writer can’t always be sure they are understood. Depending on the medium, it can be more or less durable than information transferred by speech. Because it tends to be more permanent, it makes it harder for some people to adjust the information they may have presented. The advantages are the communication can be transferred through distances or time for others to understand or read. It is usually more permanent that the spoken word.
