What is World Vision doing to advocate on the impact of the Global Food Crisis on the poor?
World Vision recognises that there are both short- and long-term implications of the current food crisis. Urgent measures need to be put in place to ensure children and their families have access to nutritious food. Preventative measures are also needed to mitigate the long-term impacts, to sustain and promote livelihoods, and to protect future generations. World Vision makes the following calls in relation to the Global Food Crisis: • World Vision calls on the international community to prioritise the protection of children’s rights through: a. The prevention of child hunger and under-nutrition in its response to the current crisis. b. Ensuring the right to education is respected. c. Ensuring health systems are strengthened. d.
