What is Wireless Number Portability (WNP)?
Wireless Number Portability allows you to keep the same phone number when changing cellular service providers within the same local calling area. WNP also allows you to keep the same phone number when switching from your landline phone service to cellular service within the same local calling area. What types of phone numbers can I port ? You can port your cellular number(s) from any cellular service provider or landline number from any service provider. This means you can port your landline number to a cellular service or your cellular number to a landline service . What should I look for in a wireless provider? More coverage – Some service providers have a more extensive coverage area than others. If you need coverage into areas where you are currently experiencing “drop outs” it may be time to consider another provider.
