What is William Shakespeares Legacy?
He’s contributed to the English enormously, he practically invented the phrases ‘mortal coil’ and many others. There’s all his sonnets, the Tempest, Othello, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, King Lear, Antony and Cleopatra (not his best), Hamlet, Julius Caesar, Macbeth, As You Like It, The Taming of the Shrew (which went on to become the modern film ‘Ten Things I Hate About You). Shakespeare also wrote many historical plays such as Richard III, Henry IV, V, VI, and VIII and many others. Shakespeare’s plays set the foundation of English literature for many years after and even today, he is still regarded the greatest writer in the English language. Ultimately, Shakespeare’s legacy are his way with words, his tales whether tragic or comedic, which will outlive you and I.
