What is Wi-Fi and Tethering?
Wi-Fi is the brand name developed by the Wi-Fi Alliance. It was developed to maintain compatibility among products like laptops and hand-held devices which communicate data wirelessly via the IEEE 802.11 specification. A Wi-Fi connection allows you to send and receive email and surf the Web without needing to connect with a cable. Tethering is the ability to use your mobile phone as a “hot spot.” This enables you to access the internet from your laptop computer or other wireless devices. Essentially, your Wow Mobile phone will not only serve as your cell phone, but also will replace any expensive aircards and associated monthly charges that you are using for internet access on your laptop. In a public place, your Wow phone allows you and others to send unlimited data through multiple devices and you can still use your Wow phone to make calls at the same time.
