What is “wet-and-messy?”
Abbreviated as WAM, “wet-and-messy” is a catch-all phrase chosen on alt.config (during the creation of the aptly-named newsgroup alt.sex.fetish.wet-and-messy) to discuss a number of fetishes including: • sexual appeal of getting clothing and/or hair underwater or dripping wet • sexual appeal of wallowing in mud (getting dirty) and similar substances • the thrill (sexual and otherwise) of getting “sucked” into quicksand and deep mudpits • sexual appeal of other “messy” substances (i.e. syrup, pie fights, paint, etc., possibly including erotic bodypainting) • combinations of these Some examples of relevant topics include discussions of these scenes in popular entertainment, personal experiences, pictures, and story offerings ranging from “PG” – rated to steamy “X” with many samples in between. The term “wet-and-messy” was co-opted from the tagline for Messy Fun’s Messy News newsletter, which reads “For lovers of wet and messy fun.” At the time it was selected, we hoped it would serve to
