What is weed abatement?
According to the Manhattan Beach Municipal Code, all owners and persons having possession and control of real property within the City are to cultivate, care for and provide complete maintenance of all trees, shrubs, lawns and ground covers now or hereafter planted or set out within any of the streets, avenues, highways and parkways adjacent to their real properties (Title 7, Chapter 8.105 Maintenance). The Manhattan Beach Public Works Department is reponsible for the maintenance of all areas under the direct control and ownership of the City, including parks, medians, well sites, pumping facilities, and other City owned facilities. For more information, or to report public or private property that is in need of weed, brush, or debris control, contact the Manhattan Beach Public Works Department-Street Division located at 3621 Bell Avenue, between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM Monday through Friday, or call them at (310) 802-5303.
