WebCT stands for Web Course Tools, and is a package of classroom management and communication programs that you access over the internet. Many instructors use WebCT to supplement their classes. WebCT offers discussion boards for class discussions, chat rooms for live discussions, centralized email so you can stay in touch with your professor, and even a way to submit assignments and take exams. The greatest advantage WebCT offers both you and your instructor is that it centralizes everything in one place, including email. You never have to keep track of your instructor’s contact information again. Simply log on, and there it is. If you’ve never used WebCT, make sure you go through the steps in getting started.
