WCF Data Services is the Microsoft technology that implements the OData protocol. Version 1.0 was released as part of the .NET Framework version 3.5 SP1 and Visual Studio 2008 SP1. The eXtreme Scale REST data service also implements the OData protocol and therefore WCF Data Services clients can interoperate with an eXtreme Scale grid.
