What is Wavefront-Guided Custom LASIK?

Light rays are passed into the eye and back out again. The distortion the eye causes the light rays when they leave the eye is called “Aberration” and is measured by an abberometer. “Wavefront” is the term used to describe the wave of light rays leaving the eye and is unique to each individual eyes, much like a fingerprint is to an individual. If the distortion (aberration) in the wavefront were significant then the patient would be considered for Custom LASIK. In most cases the aberrations are not significant to warrant Custom LASIK.
