What is wakesurfing and how is it different from wakeboarding and wakeskating?
This is a question we actually get quite often. Wakesurfing involves riding a thin surf board, without hanging on to a rope, on a wave created about 6-8 feet behind the boat when it is going at relatively slow speeds (8-11mph). It is best to weight the boat more on one side than the other in order to make a bigger cleaner wave. You often start holding on to the rope but can let go once you find the ‘sweet spot’ on the wave. Wakeskating is a cross between wakeboarding and skateboarding: you ride hanging onto the rope, further behind the boat (>60 feet), on a specially designed board, resembling a short wakeboard, that is not attached to your feet at all.
