VPN means Virtual Private Network. To connect to on-campus resources (Exchange, e-mail clients, and sci-files file share, etc.) from off-campus, one needs to connect via VPN. VPN allows your internet connection to “tunnel” through Cal Poly’s firewall at perimeter of campus. VPN uses your network password which is different from your e-mail password. More VPN information.
