What is VoIP faxing?
A. VoIP faxing is similar to traditional faxing – it just uses VoIP connection. Many companies have now switched from traditional phone lines to VoIP because of the huge savings it offers. So, VoIP faxing is a convenient alternative to maintaining a phone line for a traditional fax. With VoIP fax, your fax machine must be plugged into an analog phone adapter (or it needs to be an IP-enabled fax machine). Furthermore, Fax over VoIP is only possible if the VoIP provider can support either g.711 or T.39 protocols. To make it easier for your VoIP-enabled fax machine to “handshake” with other fax machines, your should lower the baud rate on your fax machine to as slow as it can go (9600 bps or lower). Unfortunately, you can only send one fax at a time – the fax machine can’t handle more than one.
