What is Voice Mail?
Voice mail is a feature built on your telephone line that enables you to receive messages from callers who are unable to reach you either because you are talking with someone else on the phone or you are not at home. This service is available to all customers and is completely programmable to make it as personal as you want.
Voice mail is like traditional voice mail, but it also includes a number of advanced features specific to AT&T CallVantage service. You can listen to voice mail messages by dialing ” *** ” from your AT&T CallVantage Service Phone. By default you hear messages for the Master Account (or 2nd Line Account if you are on your 2nd line), but if you want to log in as a different User, hit 0# at the PIN prompt. In addition, you can access Voice Mail messages through your AT&T CallVantage Service Home Page, or via your Control by Phone. You can use our system greeting or record your own. To record your greeting, go to your AT&T CallVantage Service Homepage (www.callvantage.att.com), select “Voice Mail” from the left-hand tabs, then click “Voice Mail” Settings.” Click “Record Your Greeting”, and the service will call your AT&T CallVantage service phone and lead you through voice prompts to record. Voice mail allows customers that have digital pagers to also receive recorded voice messages from their clients, This service allows the customer to use a custom greeting explaining to the caller that a phone number may be entered or the call may leave a voice message. Voice Mail is a computer based means of communication. All messages are sent in the original voice of the sender using a standard Touch Tone® telephone. Voice Mail offers more features and flexibility than a regular answering machine. In a single call to Voice Mail, you can send messages to others, pick up messages sent to you by subscribers or outside callers, reply to messages, and send a copy of a message to someone else. You will have a continuous flow of complete and confidential information at your command. No one else can listen to your messages, since a personal password protects your Voice Mail. You may use Voice Mail to send messages to other individual subscribers, or groups of subscribers, without calling them directly.
