What is Visceral Manipulation?
Visceral Manipulation enhances the normal mobility and tissue motion of the organs of the visceral system. These gentle manipulations can alter and improve the structure and physiological functions of the organ, their systems, and the entire body. At optimum health, there is an interconnected motion between all the bodys organs. This synchronistic movement is flexible enough to remain stable throughout the bodys many varieties of motion. Hypertonicity, displacement and adhesions, however, can all cause organs to work against each other and the bodys muscular, membranous, fascial, and osseous structures. These disturbances can create chronic irritations and fixed, abnormal points of tension. Visceral Manipulation consists of very delicate manual techniques that encourage the normal mobility and inherent tissue motions of the viscera and their connective tissues.
