What is vesting and why is it important?
Vesting is the right of ownership in the employer’s funds. Vesting is important, as it will tell what percentage of the employer money can be used to calculate the maximum loan amount and to help secure that loan amount. When the maximum loan amount is quoted, AIG Retirement Online assumes that you are 100% vested in the employer’s funds. Verification from your employer will determine the proper vesting percentage.
