What Is VESA Standard?
The 3″x3″ or 4″x4″ hole pattern on the back of flat panel monitors or monitor arms is called VESA standard, and a large and increasing number of today’s LCDs have 4 compatible holes on the back to attach the VESA plate. Flat panel monitors and monitor arms conforming to these standards are designed to make monitor attachment quick and easy. The VESA FDMI Standard defines physical mounting interfaces and hole patterns, and associated cable and power supply location guidelines for flat panel monitors. Standard Interfaces – VESA MIS-D, 100/75, C compliant monitors are equipped with either a 75 x 75 mm or 100 x 100 mm mounting hole pattern – VESA MIS-E, C compliant monitors are equipped with a 100 x 200 mm mounting hole pattern, and are typically used with heavier monitors.
