What is Verified by Visa and do I have to use it?
Verified by Visa is a program, which is available to cardholders while making purchases on the Internet. The sole goal of this program is to provide added security against Identity Theft / Fraud. After cardholders enroll, participating Online Merchants give the option to couple the online shopper’s card number with a unique password. Following the purchase, the program produces a confidential phrase on the purchase receipt — one which had been created by the online shopper during the Verified by Visa enrollment process. At many participating Online Merchant sites, use of the program is not mandatory; however, it is strongly suggested that you make use of it when available.
