WHAT IS VENTRILOQUISM AND PUPPETRY ALL ABOUT?
Ventriloquism (or “vent”) is a form of puppetry where the puppeteer makes the puppet talk (live), but the ventriloquist doesn’t appear to move his or her mouth. In most forms of ventriloquism, both the ventriloquist and the puppet share the stage as characters. In puppetry the idea is that you are focusing on the puppet and not the puppeteer. In most cases, the puppeteers are not seen, and do not have their own characterization. Currently, David owns several characters; his most popular, Tyler the turtle; a parrot named Maxwell Eugene; and a large bear named Ted. There are many types of shows to choose from, ranging from a 10 minute ventriloquism show for kids to a half hour (or more) for adults.
