What is vapour blasting and do ASA do equipment for it?
Vapour blasting is carried out by introducing a small amount of water into the air and abrasive stream, it has two advantages, a) the water aids in degreasing so there is no need to remove oil and grease deposits beforehand as with dry blasting. b) The water helps to prolong the life of the abrasive which is an advantage to the professional user who uses large quantities of abrasives. The chief disadvantages are the cost of the equipment, (from 15,000 – 20,000 upward), and the size of compressor required. We can recommend a supplier of vapour blast equipment if required.
