Verizon Advanced Data, Inc. (VADI) VADI owns all of the DSL equipment, and contracts the local loop connection with Verizon (the local phone company). VADI is a DSL provider, for both wholesale and retail. VADI has numerous wholesale customers, including Verizon Online. VADI does not provide Internet access in any form; it’s just the pipeline. Verizon Online (VOL) is a retail ISP. VOL bundles the whole package and sells it to the end-user for a single price. NACC is formerly the wholesale group, and they’re still part of the local phone company. VADI contracts the NACC to handle its wholesale ordering.
