What is URL redirection?
URL Redirection, also known as URL forwarding, domain redirection and domain forwarding, is a technique for making a webpage available under many URLs (Uniform Resource Locator) on the internet. For example, you have a company named ‘My Company Pvt. Ltd’ abbreviated as ‘MCPL’, now your customers may try reaching your company home page using various links like http://www.mycompany.com, [http://www.mycompanypvttld.com], http://www.mcpl.com, etc. So your company can register all these names, and whenever anyone looks for these site names, you can direct them to your actual home page. Redirecting URL is also useful if you want to shorten a long affiliate URL. Good URLs should have a form like /vexat/products/standard/windows.htm and not something like vexat.com/index.php?id=12. But the latter is the kind of URL most publishing systems generate. The idea is to create “virtual” URLs that look simple and can be indexed by dynamically. In fact, the URLs for your dynamic content can have any fo
