What is up with Resident Evil 1.5 and 2beta?
On the road to what we now know as Resident Evil 2 Capcom went through much revamping. Resident Evil 2 was once thought to be about %70 complete when it was decided to be “Too similar to Resident Evil 1” and scrapped. This incomplete game became known as “Resident Evil 1.5” according to both fans and even the developers alike. Eventually what we know as Resident Evil 2 was born from these ashes retaining some things and changing many others. At this point, as with most games, the nearly complete beta test went out. Due to it being made public this version is now known as Resident Evil 2beta. There are some small cosmetic differences between Resident Evil 2 and 2beta but nothing overly dramatic.
