What is up with 414 Mason and whats the difference between the Clubhouse and the Clubhouse Lounge?
The SFCC Properties at 414 Mason include two comedy clubs and two workshop spaces. The upstairs/SF Comedy College Clubhouse lounge is for the New Talent Comedians of the SFCC and specialty shows. The downstairs SF Comedy College Clubhouse is the pro venue that showcases the same comedians you’ll find at Cobbs or the Punchline minus the high cover, the over priced headliner and the two drink minimum. The model less one showroom is similar to that of the Comedy Store in Hollywood with a New Talent venue and a Main Room. The facility is an arts building built in the early 1900s. The original plan for the building was to serve the American Conservatory Theatre in SF as a type of ‘Fame’ school but was too large for their needs.
