What is Unlocking?
Unlocking is a process of removing the network restrictions from a mobile phone. Basically network providers provide mobile phones to their customers on certain contract basis. such contract phones would be tied up to the specific network only. It can’t be accessed with any other network. The process of removing this network restriction is caqlled unlocking. There are various methods to unlock a mobile phone such as,
* Software unlocking
* Flashing
* Remote unlocking
* Unlocking through code, etc.,
The safest and easiest among these unlocking methods are unlocking using unlock code and remote unlocking. An unlock code for a network locked mobile phone can be either obtained from the respective network provider or from any trusted vendor online. For example, www.simpleunlocking.com this site povides unlock codes for most of the international brand mobile phones and supported international networks at affordable cost with easy unlocking guide. This site also provides remote unlocking services for iPhone models.
Phones are generally sold by a wireless carrier for much less than their actual retail value. The wireless carrier often subsidizes the cost of the phone with the expectation that they can recover more than this amount throughout the subscriber’s contract. They will try to make sure that the phone can only be used on their particular network, and thus, locks the phone’s software to their wireless network. e.g. T-mobile supplied phones only work on T-mobile wireless networks. Unlocking means clearing the phone’s software setting so that the phone can be used on any network.
GSM wireless providers lock their cell phones to ensure that they will only work with their network. Unlocking allows you to use your current GSM mobile phone with other GSM service providers (your phone will no longer be “locked” to one network). This means that you will be able to use your cell phone with another wireless provider, including prepaid and overseas, by simply inserting a new active SIM card inside it! Some mobile handsets are “locked” so that they will only work when used with a SIM card from the network that sold you the handset. For example, if you purchased a Vodafone Line-rental handset, the handset may be locked so that it only works on the Vodafone network.
