What is unique about the Shepherd School admission process?

Each year we assemble a team of musicians based upon very specific ensemble needs. For orchestral instrumentalists, we populate only two orchestras, so we try to capture a specific number of students for the violin sections, horn section, flutes, etc… We also need specific voice types for our vocal program,-soprano, mezzo, tenor, etc… A final consideration is studio attrition, and how vacant studio slots can be best filled.
