What is unique about Lumus products?
Many companies are developing and selling head-mounted display technologies and products. “Head-mounted display” connotes a heavy, bulky device mounted on the head, which is exactly what can be seen on the market to date. Many refer to them as “goggles” or “visors”. In addition to their awkward look, these devices are immersive with the wearer’s view blocked, making them impractical for daily and mobile use and impossible for multi-tasking and augmented reality applications. Some try to overcome this with “see-around”, but none offer the functionality, practicality and natural look of Lumus’ true see-through, and therefore cannot really be called “video eyeglasses” because they do not have the look and feel of eyeglasses. They have been around for a number of years and have failed to become mainstream consumer products. Only Lumus offers a genuine transparent display that blends in as standard eyewear; only Lumus is worthy of being called “video eyeglasses”.
