What is unique about LeTourneau Universitys BME Program?
Our program is unique from others in that it is interdisciplinary, meaning you will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a Biomedical Concentration. Our curriculum is ABET accredited and specializes in Biomechanics and Biomedical Instrumentation/Signal Processing. Because we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), our designs focus on understanding the human body and enhancing and aiding human life. With the help of a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant we have a new BME laboratory with modern experimental equipment to measure a variety of data, from the motion of joints to a wide range of biological signals. Our students are also very active in undergraduate research during their junior and senior years. For example, we are currently doing research on ACL deficient knee motion, human motion studies and the Virtual Human Arm (investigating the next generation of intelligent prosthetic limbs).
