• UW is one of the largest engineering schools in the country, supplying many of Canada’s engineers. • Students obtain the benefits of a large school with a smaller community feel as approximately half of the engineering students are away on co-op each term. • Since Waterloo Engineering students start their specific program immediately in first year, they have greater focus on their major, and a strong spirit of co-operation within their class. • Unlike internships that many other engineering universities offer, our co-op program provides an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge every four months.
